BioScience's New Editor-in-Chief

The American Institute of Biological Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Charles Fenster as editor-in-chief of its flagship journal, BioScience, effective 1 January 2023, upon the expiry of previous editor-in-chief Scott L. Collins’s second three-year term.

Dr. Fenster is professor and director of the Oak Lake Field Station at South Dakota State University. In addition to these roles, he has a long history of service with AIBS, having been a member of its Board of Directors, its treasurer, and a two-term president. “Charlie’s appointment as editor-in-chief ensures that BioScience will remain a forceful and trustworthy voice within the life sciences, building on its successes in recent years. We look forward to his thoughtful leadership and close collaboration with the AIBS community,” said AIBS Chief Executive Officer Scott Glisson.

Scott L. Collins will remain with the journal in a supporting role through the first quarter of 2023 to ensure a smooth transition.
