Summary from the 2021 IDEA Conference

In 2021, AIBS decided to expand our annual meeting of the AIBS Council of Member Societies and Organizations to include like-minded organizations committed to increasing diversity in the biological sciences. The IDEA conference, supported by the National Science Foundation’s LEAPS program, focuses on Enabling Scientific Societies to Support Inclusive, Diverse, Equitable, and Accepting (IDEA) Scientific Environments. The first meeting of the conference was held in November of 2021. The outcomes from this meeting have been published as a special report in our premier journal, BioScience.
